Just a quick one on the filter.
The carbon that comes with the still is no use, as a test block one end with your finger and with the other end make a seal with your lips and blow through the carbon if you get resistance or now airflow throw it away, go to your HBS and buy a new packet do the same with them and you will see what I mean, you wont have any more problems, cutting the grove is a must regardless of using good carbon you can then tighten the screw completely so the washers seal.
