Show Us Your Still Thread
I thought I'd start this, it's a bit of fun and there's a similar thread on the SD Forum, it's intresting to see what people are using, my stills evolved quite a bit in the last 12 months, I guess others have too, especially with the StillDragon parts now available from

I'm still using my Silly still,30 litre air cooled, life currently too busy to build the projected sillier one,30 litre air cooled reflux.Neither is/will be a thing of beauty, but that to me is not important.Still porn is not my style. It's all about the product. And doing it in a different manner.

@Anavrin: Your post prompted me to revisit the archive pages of Build Your Own where many of the longer term inmates here have posted their progressive builds, many of which were later superseded by better and greater innovations with new bells and whistles, my own included, which went through a number of incarnations.
With the amount of hours and hard work I put into those projects I owe myself a fortune in unpaid salary and bonuses
I'll post pics when I'm home again at the weekend - if I remember.

Re: Show Us Your Still Thread
Just doubled the number of plates in my Baby CD to 6

It hit 90% off a 12% sugar wash at 2kw, although I did flood it a few times while playing with the power and dephlag cooling, in the end I turned the reflux cooling off and just stripped the rest off the wash, all the plates stayed bubbling away, once they're charged they stay charged, even without and reflux.

Re: Show Us Your Still Thread
It's not fully grown up yet, I'd say it's now a teenager, it'll be 9 or 10 plates by the time it's done, that's how many plates I recon will fit between the ends using standard 1m long threaded bars, it's certainly getting tall!
I've got a keg which will become my new boiler and that's taller than my current one, plus if I add the torpedo section in that adds even more hight!

If your uploading from a phone or pad, just edit the photo by rotating it 90°, save it, then rotate it back again to normal , and save it again, after that, it should upload the right way round :-)
