You can still build your own elements particularly for those that use 2" triclamps. You just need to drill a blanking cap for two compression fittings and buy the straight rod to bend yourself.

with a couple of 8 mm compression threaded adaptors you are good to go.

Want to easily fit an element to a 30 or 50 litre keg? fit two 8 mm compression fittings, bend an element rod and feed it in through the keg neck and out through the compression fittings.

When it says "bend with regular tools", is it talking pipe benders or something like that? I guess heat is your friend if they get a little work hard. Sod importing a camco from America now I can make my own!

They come anealed but you should try to bend them gently in just 1 operation using a bending tool. They have a minimum radius bend so just use the tool intended for the same size copper tube.

When I started off with AG brewing like most guys I built my own boiler....when I found anything like the above I always bookmarked them....luckliy I still have loads of them...most are in their own folders..which is a little easier to find.

I find backing up bookmarks in general and messages from this forum a messy and 2nd class sort of issue, but blame my ISP.

Screwfix sell 1"Female Sockets these work with the chinese elements with bsp threads to remove the lead content from the brass just Dilute 1 part hydrogen peroxide with 2 parts of vinegar in a bowl to form the cleaning solution Soak the socket in the cleaning solution for around 7 minutes and check to see if the brass has taken on the buttery-yellow color that indicates that the lead has been removed.then solder into a stainless steel barrel hope this helps
