Attempt at Sambuca

Tried a little experiment making sambuca, threw a bag of star anise (cant remember the size)prob. 100 gram bag i'll check as im going to buy more. Added 2x table spoons of dried fennel seeds to 1 litre of T500 double distilled split pea nuetral @ 93% left for 4 days. chucked it in the airstill seeds and all with 1 litre of water. When it came to the boil i dialled down to 100 watts, slow drip tossed 20 ml and dialled up to 160watts collected 600ml @ 80%. mixed 5 teaspoons of sugar with 100ml boiling water to disolve, then added 300 ml of filtered water.its got to be the best sambuca iv'e ever tasted. It hasn't got that syrupy taste that the essence or the shop bought stuff has. Well chuffed with this result.

I'm loving it!
Not a drink that I would thank you for,but you tried,and got a result.
Not wishing to knock your result,seems a lot of Star Anise,to me.
Maybe why I don't like the tipple?
Gold star affixed to your name on the register.We don't get a lot of action in the recipes section.

Just been down to asian store for more star anise, it was 50gram bag. gonna make a couple of litres for xmas, as the kids have nearly polished this one off. should have hid it.

Only thing i can say is make sure its a nice clean nuetral,(i'm confident that you make nice nuetrals) i made some a while back in my learning stage and the bite it had was ...well a bite. :P but learning the art solved all issues and headaches.
