Bacon vodka (not April 1st and I did not make this up)

Postby Curmudgeon » Thu Nov 17, 2016 3:10 am

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacon_vodka

Bacon-flavored vodka infusions can be made by pouring 120 g (4 oz) of bacon fat in 750 ml (a fifth) of vodka, continuously stirring, freezing and then removing the fat off the top. The process is known as 'fat-washing'.[

Jeezz. That's got to taste like nothing on earth. :-\
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

On the plus side (and no offense to anyone intended) most that don't eat bacon don't drink alcohol either.

I'm well into both.

The bacon has to be cooked? It's not raw bacon?

In which case, presumably, this would work for sausage too? I quite like the idea of sausage. Or sausage and bacon. So long as it's cooked first. Raw sausage vodka would be a step too far.

If it has a splash of mushroom ketchup when it's in the glass I think you just redesigned breakfast.

LOL.

Works best it you blitz it, and then stand it to separate before freezing. Cooked, fat only not meat. Smoked streaky bacon.

Roast Beef Brandy anyone ..........

This is certainly not for me, booze is booze and it should taste boozey, not like breakfast.

Or maybe you know it's gone down hill when your Breakfast tastes like Booze!!

I don't know about that, but I make a point of not starting drinking again until I am sober ;D
