Good find. Good find indeed.

From memory we have struggled to find a "go to" colander.

Thanks.

Thanks! I posted it because I couldn't find a link that was current.

That and it's a quid.

Must point out I ordered it online. Not sure if it's a store held line :)

Got the legs on it today and trimmed so it's right up to the top. Can't wait to try it :D

While I think about it.... When do I use it???

I'm completely new. I'm planning on following the advice on the first post. Strip runs then spirit runs. Do I infuse on the spirit run or re run it again?

The heads and tails would be gin smelling. How will I know what to keep?

Mainly gin.

You are the proud owner of a sputnik.

Search "sputnik" on here.. loads of stuff.

I'm in a similar position - I think with Gin there's no one right way to do it. I was thinking of triple distilling with heads/tails cut on the spirit (second) run as normal. Then the third run is with botanicals. No heads or tails just Gin - am I way off beam here?

I'm just off to re-read the sputnik threads...

Thats how I do it it. Strip - spirit run - get to a nice neutral and then rerun with bots.

Perfect. It's confusing for a beginner with so many variations on technique but good to have a clear starting point.

Here's a reference to a great thread which I've found very helpful: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4648&p=44529
