Could i use 1kg of molasses as a yeast nutrient would that work in a 10L suger wash using bread yeast

Are you trying to make rum?

Yes I would say it would ferment dry without any other nutrient, but like gaza said it'll be technically a rum.

Agreeing with both prior posts.
I see it as being sufficient nutrient, and also has a shade of Rum about it,I would view that amount as being a shade only though.

Yip i understand it would technically be a rum but had two 500g laying about and bread yeast and no other nutrients so just wanted to check first would have very ltttle flavor coming thru thats ok

Molasses does bring some flavour through in an AS.
SO if you are aiming for neutral... I use use them 1 at a time.

If you are doing a 'lob on' [I have one to do soon with assorted fermentables inc turkish delight] - then nay worries.

It will have a very, very strong flavour coming through. I've done this. Unless you like the taste of blackstrap, it will be horrid! It won't carbon filter out either. I kept a bottle to see if it ages into something drinkable. The rest went down the drain. Mind you, I rather hate the taste of blackstrap molasses.
