Compliments!
We had the usual house full over Christmas, great fun! I have just started disstiling this year first with a Air Still then got a T500 a month or so ago.
We had Still Spirits Whiskey,Rum, Gin, etc, somebody asked "what kind of Scotch is this" as all the spirits were in decanters, I didn't say "oh I have my own still" I want to keep a low profile! I muttered something about mountain dew! but iam not sure? He said it tastes like Glenmorangie, Er I don't think so, but that's not the point, all he thought was it tasted good, and it does. I must be doing something right!

Good for you!
May your product improve this year.
I find mine improving at quite a steady rate, the odd hiccup, but acquired knowledge and experience certainly play their part. And save time and effort.
Robert.

They're surprisingly good. People are a little reluctant to try if you tell them you made it, so keeping a low profile is a good approach, or let them taste it then ask what they reckon......

Funny thing, same with me...took a bottle of "whiskey" to a party a few weeks before chrimbo, one of the old boys(whisey drinker) there said it was a drop of good stuff and where did I get it from??.
I told a porky and said a mate got it for me...

I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Re: Compliments!
I don't keep a low profile wrt distilling but mainly I only socialise with family and very close friends.
Sometimes at a party or barby, when someone knew learns of my hobby, they are reluctant to try it. After an hour or so of watching everyone else sipping, out comes 'I think I'll try one'...sometime I wind them up saying 'oh no, wouldn't want to poison you'. lol
Congrats on getting so many congratulations. I've found the flavourings to be hit and miss for me with an allegedly top notch brandy being the biggest disappointment. Absinthe went down well and apple pie moonshine (not a commercial flavouring) disappears real fast.
