Only a slight exaggeration, it's currently £27.66 on a litre of pure alcohol, or £11.06 on a litre at 40% abv.
So when you can sometimes get a litre of gin for twenty quid, knock off the VAT and that's £16.67, knock off the duty and you're down to £5.61 for production, bottling, distribution, and everybody's profit margins.

Forgot all about this moonshine, just found it............
Just added some to a glass with my usual Pepsi max... (Need to remove excess belly)
Can I swear on here? Needs must... Fuckin' terrible, worse than my second effort when I got greedy with the cuts and included tails..... (Never again)
Well, I'm no expert like you guys but my efforts using lentils and bread yeast are 100% better, no that's not true... 300, 400, 500, a 1000%........ But loads better....

@Spirits4BB: Moonshine is a generic term insofar as its more of a method rather than a recipe - if that makes sense.
There are some fine products available that are classified as moonshine. On the other hand, a lot of moonshine only goes through a stripping run at which time it is sold and/or consumed.
Point being, don't give up on it too soon. A bit of tweaking can work wonders.

Spirits4BB ,you are not the first to discover that the learning curve is very steep, all that is required is that you keep up. After that, life is tickety-boo.

I think he is talking about the quality of this commercial moonshine, not what he produces!
I remember giving my nephew some of my product to sample. He screwed up his face, closed his eyes, tossed it back and... there was a look of shock on his face. "Hey, this tastes GOOD!". I suspect the Firefly might be made to taste like that as this is what people will expect -- moonshine tastes bad.

Thanks' chill...
Sorry guys, I could've worded it better...
My boss gave me it about a month ago because he doesn't do spirits, it was bought for him from amazon as a prezzie that turned into an unwanted gift...
I did ok really, I swapped it for a bottle of my fores that he uses for cleaning fluid.
Saying that, the fores probably tasted better...

For the last couple of evenings, a young lady that I have known for all of her life, has stopped by for a chat.
She remarked that she may not sleep well due to stress.
I gave her a glug of my filtered neutral spirit.
She says that it tasted good (she is not a big time drinker), and that she slept well.
Result?!
Robert.

I think you'll find that any booze in enough quantity, irrespective of strength will remove drawers.
And it depends on whether the drawless party likes the provider enough.
Otherwise there's a strong chance that Inspector Knacker would come calling..........
Hence care and common sense should prevail.......

I don't know how many responders above are parents.
When you have known a person from their birth, changed their nappies and watched them flower into well rounded and beautiful adults, then your love of & for them should ensure their safety,at least from yourself.
If not,go drink your foreshots.
Robert.
Some minds need to get out of the gutter here.
I simply thought that it was good that a non-drinker liked my neutral.
The reaction from some responders was informative.
