Just wish it was cheaper, and that there was a local HB shop,I have to pay postage on top.
Your post reads like you are making the most of the Bank Holiday, enjoy!

See it's easy for me, it costs me less than a quid to park the car.
My local HBS has most stuff, but not often the wide range I like. Done a 100 mile round trip before now for some stuff and I routinely mail order, UK/EU/US distances. So I watch the currency numbers, so that I can make the most of the cheaper levels and in quantities that I know I'll use while making the most of the shipping costs Robert......

No, I wanted some 3 and 5 gallon carboys (8 carboys is a fortune in shipping/postage).
Plus the HBS in Aldershot has the best selection of stuff, of any HBS I've been to down here.......
Not that matters, today I'm on my second spirit run with my smart/air/easy still (so I don't run out of drinkies)........

I've been planning to do a batch of Distillers Caramel for the past few months and kept putting it off. Well today was the day to get it done.
Glorious sunshine, everything else on track so in we went. I'd forgotten how much 'fun' it is to make this stuff, it nearly got me except for my new tactic of boiling16oz of sugar in a deep pot and tossing in 500ml of boiling water instead of cold. Worked a treat

That's another job out of the way.... easy-peasy! I might even be getting good at this

Today I picked and froze 2Kg of Strawberries,as we can't eat them fast enough, hate waste, so a wine or jam will be happening when life is calmer.
Who knows how many/much will be in the freezer by then?

Put the finishing touches to 50L of Apple Pie. Ran the low wine sitting in my boiler. Packed my bags and leaving for the states tomorrow. Don't want to go. But have to. 12 hours in Hong Kong either way. Too long to wait at airport. Too short to get a room.
Might go and look at the Blue Butcher restaurant. They just had a write up on the Apple Pie moonshine they serve.

Early finish, all set up for a stripping run, warming up nicely then the storm from hell knocked me and 40,000 others with a 12 hour power cut
At least it went away so we could have a bbq instead ! And it washed the bloody lentils away
Oh well just have to skive off early today as well

I have just rescued my wheat wash as it had got to 30c unheated this morning when I checked!

Not really today, but last week I moved domicile.
I now have a dedicated brewing and stilling room, with it's own water supply, drainage and heating, and less clutter in my life.
Last night I got a couple of washes going, and then closed the door on them.
I'll start a couple more tomorrow.
Come the autumn,I hope to have time to consider a new still build/re-model.
This evening I had a visit from a policeman, concerning a nieghbour's FAC application, and didn't have to worry too much about what would be seen.
Considering excavating a cellar for storage,or at least a sugar shack erection to stock up while the price is low. A cupboard with 35Kg of sugar just doesn't seem enough.
Life is not all Hunky Dory,Interweb connection is worse than previously, but the view from the windows is pretty good.

Congrats on the new place. It sounds pretty nice, other than the internet connection.

The police certainly take FACs seriously where you are.
I do like the cellar idea !!
