How much Snow? (& gardeners corner)

Postby Mash » Wed Feb 28, 2018 2:34 pm

Myself a a few mates have been ranting that -"this is just a bit of proper winter" not really
"THE BEAST FROM THE EAST" that the weather monkeys are on about.

However I see Scotland have a RED ALERT for the weather ? Whats this mean?
Is that a bit more than "put y'big coat" ?

It's very serious - they had to change the bulb to do it.

We do not do cold here, snows once a decade !!
How can you prep for that ?
Next week it will be warm and wet again.

Scotland does seem to be getting the brunt of it.
Friends in the borders are saying since people are actually snowed in. The drifts are up the doors. :o

No Mash just our customary half inch
or so, let us have a good panic and
go back to work tomorrow. Cause that
is what we do about snow. Also means
we dont spend millions on kit.

We live in a micro climate in our part of Galloway, we are getting a bit wind but no snow. The village next to us had no snow for 23 years and even then only gets a light covering that does not stay.

We are just a bit south of Hadrian's Wall and currently have a nice even covering in the garden 6" deep. The drifts are up to about 18" at the moment. Not had this much for a good few years.

It is the wind and drifting that is buggering us up in the hills.
Not THAT much snow, but the drifts are feckin' spectacular.
And it is COLD.

Hi Guys
Its awfull. Ive got at least 16" of snow all over and the drifts are over 2 foot deep. Nightmare. Shades of 2010. And most of all its still giving it pelters.

I would love 16" s'pose 5 will have to do.
As an ADI cant operate on snow or ice, its
the only thing that stops use.
So on the piss, nice bit of Gin and a few
beers. ;D ;D

16inches? Don’t see why I should cut a couple of inches off mine just to please you! :)

What’s an ADI?
