Do you know, when I contacted 'The Man' today to say that the site was down, I was concerned that I might lose contact with people that I consider friends, or at least, mates.
So, the site is back, and hopefully ever more shall be so.
And thanks Jimmy for doing that.
I am going to spend some time giving thought and effort to who I might actually share some more information with, just in case this situation happens again, and we don't get back online so quickly.
Robert.

I popped in yesterday morning and everything was ok...didn't get in again due to committee problems later in the day....so I was somewhat surprised to find this thread this morning.

Re: Site Downtime
This is one of the reasons I suggested facebook before. Not to suggest social media for the sake of it, but because most of us are in locations where the whole point of the forums here are considered by our respective "authorities" as sub-rosa.
That isn't quite as easy as it sounds i.e. to "friend" each other via FB would work but FB themselves can be a PITA (currently I'm blocked by them because of some condition of their policy about using "real names" - yeah right - like half of them are real names..........NOT!).
Anyway, it's about loss of contact/connection with you lot IMO. There's some brilliant ideas etc, hereabouts. Myself ? I'm quite lazy, given that I've found a system that suits me - whereas some are what I think of as real masters at this game, especially when it comes to original ideas and thought that can help us produce better quality spirit than is commercially available (and that's without taking into account the difficulty in getting the ingredients to mimic commercial products, or that the method used can be rather indiscreet).
I seem to recall having virtual withdrawal symptoms when the site was down for a while a year or two back.
I also sort of feel a little guilty, as expecting our generalissimo to shoulder all the responsibility is expecting a lot.
Just my tuppence worth........

Come one P,before you get back to work, smack him yourself..
But have to say I do not have a FB account, and when friends invite me to join, I de-friend them in real life.
I don't give a flying fig what my sister had for breakfast today,or why she would inform me.
Robert.

I was equally cynical. Only setting up at FB as some of my other people/connections in booze making were there. Maybe it's just that I'm lucky that they're not taking pics of every coffee they drink etc. Hence have learned to find it useful, but hey ho, horses for courses etc........
As for the joys of getting back to the coal face, that's about and hour and a half away....... >:(

Apart from the fact I detest fb, it is blocked here in China. As is anything related to Google.
