just finished distilling 2x 24L of wash ended up with 5L of 80-85% with the tomato wash.

Watered down to 13 700ml bottles :-)
I know anyone else can do this but the larder sure does look fully stocked.
I also bought Still Spirits top shelf Irish Whisky & Ameretto which I\'m looking forward to trying.

You will be surprised how quickly it goes when friends and family have tasted it .. you will end up seeing more of them cos they \"just popped round for a drink or to see how you are\".Ive started saving the full bottles, and the half bottle you get when using the ss range stays down stairs as taster.Im not surprised it does seem so easy to make that much spirit that cheaply.

Hangover

Ihave tried the still spirits top shelf irish whisky, not bad at all not a million miles away from tullymore dew IMO,but it is one of those essences that deffo wants leaving a few weeks to develop its full flavour.

I have tried a few of the ss range classic tennessee bourbon nearly Jack Daniels

Classic american bourbon it sort of halfway between a jack daniels and a southern comfort

Classic finest reserve scotch whiskey nice dry after-taste similar to teachers

Classic vsop smooth with a very complex after-taste.rather like an own brand supermarket bottle

top shelf rye -- its one that doesnt last long always goes down well its redwood at 40%

top shelf ouzo my friend who always drinks ouzo when overseas loves it

top shelf french brandy needs a while to stand to bring out the taste

apple and peach schnapps with bases these are very nice, peach is better than archers

partners favourites are candy shots and the melon licquer

top shelf white rum tastes of figs so is ok by me

Top shelf vodka nice to mix but nothing special when drunk neat

Just done a prestige spirits french pastis pernod style very nice slightly stronger on taste than original but is easily altered by adding more or less sugar

These are only my opinions on the drinks, the whiskeys and bourbons dont seem to be around long, myself and mates love them.

All these have been made using the ss triple distilled wash with carbon and turbo cleared

I\'ve tried and loved all the SS Classic and Top Shelf Bourbons, problem is their addictive (thats my excuse anyway). The Tennessee and Kentucky Oak Chips make quite a difference to all of them, rounds off flavour and adds colour. The Top Shelf Bourbon is nice straight on ice.

If you ever get round to buying the SS Whisky Profile Kit try \"Optics\" modified Glenfiddich recipe. I\'ve called mine \"Glenoptich\". You\'ll find the thread with his recipe on this site.

Opus27 ive got some soaking on bourbon oak chips its been soaking 3 weeks now,am trying to keep my mits of it until christmas,i also left out the glycerine and distillers caramel from my recipe this time,as the oak gives it a nice golden glow and also mellows spirit a hell of a lot more than you would think,so should need no glycerine (not a fan of it myself)

cheers optic
