An entire batch ruined, I guess
Hello guys,
As the title says, here's step by step what I've done:
- Used 7kg of sugar
- Blamed the EZ filter system for not doing its job
- Read something about 'more sugar is more yeast stress, so more negative smell'
- Found that 7kg DEXTROSE was on the package and not 7kg SUGAR (but 6kg sugar).
I have used 1 kg of sugar too much.
IMPORTANT QUESTION: Is this drinkable?
I have, by coincidence (inattention), collected too many fores and heads. (At least 1 advantage)
Sam

DON'T THROW IT AWAY. It will be fine.
If it fermented out. It probably just took longer than it should.
The hearts will be fine. Perhaps needs a filter. Taste it at all stages. You will learn and understand whats going on.
Heads and fores can anyways be used for other things.

Fores are great for starting a BBQ.
Heads can be saved, diluted down to sub 30% and re-run, on slack days.
Robert.

There is no ONE way.
