Re: Parrot Parts
I like the idea of a wooden base. It'll keep it nice and stable and purely from an aesthetic point of view think it contrasts really well against the shiny copper.
I'm looking forward to designing and building mine, there's so much inspiration like this around and a real scope to try out something creative without risking loads of expensive copper if it doesn't work.

Re: Parrot Parts
I made the wooden base for that one was so that the parrot would reach the outlet at the end of my condenser but I've since decided to make something a little more practical.
I'm building a smaller parrot to attach directly to the end of the Liebig outlet. It will have with a small air vent like below.

Having the parrot on it's own stand, then the still on it's own and the collection vessel on its own was just too messy. The new design will simplify things greatly.
One still complete with integral parrot (when required) and DJs for collections.

From the Board Index go to 'Resources', then on to 'Distilling Booklets',
then choose 'Parrot Parts' to download.

Yes, for some reason, this pdf was hard to link to.
I hope that it works for you.
Shout up if it doesn't.
It may not be the best parrot, but is certainly a working one,
Robert.

There is no ONE way.

You could make it easier to solder with a 22mm 10mm tee at the bottom.
... And for the support arm for that matter. Cut in half and filled.
