Kraken Black Spiced Rum Recipe

Does anyone have any ideas for a recipe for Kraken Black Spiced Rum.
I bought a bottle and is very very good...a bit like 50/50 tia maria & vodka.

http://www.krakenrum.com

I am beginning to think Ice's kale & GS is a good base, but what to add after distillation to colour and flavour it.

Thoughts gentlemen please?

I've found this..

" It is an imported black rum from the Caribbean, reputedly infused with 11 secret spices."

Other than that nothing.. ::)

Found this...

"I think the colour is food dye since its so dark but there's a caramel hint to it .there's some sort of sugar since when you swirl the glass it runs on the glass (like glycerine ??) . there is a little vanilla but I think that would come from a toasted barrel or stick rather than a bean. A little cinnamon. But mainly liquorice probably from star of annise. Maybe a little clove"
.

No mention of the "coffee" note from this guy.

Maybe something along the lines of the Buccaneer Bob recipe, Mash? Using black treacle or molasses in the wash with the kale & GS, then reserve some of the wash to colour the final spirit?
At least that's how I think it works?!

Just for the record I didn't start this... Think Seagull said how good it was and on offer at Morrisons. I got it cheaper still from.... From... Amazon... But you do have to sign to say you are over 18!

I would not put it past this lot. Would you age it on toasted straw?
