Salted caramel rum
Anyone got any suggestions on how to quickly ( as in by this Friday night) infuse rum with salted caramel flavour?
I've seen a dastardly concoction on line that involved filling a bottle of vodka with lollies. Blegh. Anyone got a better suggestion?

Re: Salted caramel rum
I have never tasted this but I guess the intention is to make it slightly sweet and fill out the flavour. Carmel will add the sweetness. I think the salt is a flavour enhancer
Caramel in gently burnt sugar, made on the stove. I have made it before for colouring beers. Be gentle and as soon as the colour changes [or even hints that it] take it off the heat. I would try a bit of that and ... salt?
Try just 2.5 ml measure with small amounts, until you get the flavour profile you want and then just multiply it up.

I think Mashy gave the best response that you might expect.
Do you have a child of college age that has requested this unusual formulation?
I am all for new,but this mix must have been dreamt up by a strange mind.
Robert.

My thoughts exactly ED but here's the story. Some how a local hipster bar has managed to make a CSR that adults find exotic. I'll take Kylies >:D suggestion and add it a little bit at a time.
The dodgiest drink I ever had was called Liquid Lamington. Tasted like whizzed up sponge cake raspberry chocolate and coconut. I couldn't get past the first glass. This coming from a man who drinks sherry and Baileys.

Bringing it all back home ... I bought a small bottle of pre made salted caramel sauce and added it to the bottle of rum a spoon full at a time. Verdict. Better than you'd think.
