Hello to all , Ive just found a thread relating to my FUSELEX filters. There was some feedback about pit corrosion which i would like to clarify. Yes,in seven years I\'ve had a few returned, which are replaced free of charge. It should be noted that it will ONLY happen if the crystalline structure of the steel has imperfections,( global failure rates of SS is at 5% for industrial applications),this style filter is a miniature version of a commercial situation. Suffice to say , if it didn\'t happen within 1,2, or 3 uses, it never will happen. the FUSELEX nano and the master version are intend to replace the use of plastic, which can be toxic if used incorrectly, i.e, some alternative filters use a water filter style carbon block and ceramic cartridge. Some use Butyle rubber bungs, some use PP. Some even have polycarbonate components, and god forbid \"bisphenol A\" which is used as a plasticizer for molding plastic and is being systematically banned in food containers etc, as its a known carcinogen, even leaching out in tap water. I designed the FUSELEX filters to allow freedom from being locked into buying a block cartridge. bagged GAC is much cheaper for the consumer.
If any keen distillers are looking for something , I can arrange for shipping to the UK.
Hope this clears up any questions about the brand, and thanks for reading.
Cheers
Craig

Craig, thanks for the info.
The nano seems just what I\'m looking for. Space/price restrictions etc.
@bluecap; what\'s your views of it.

Ok my view on the nano, I like it even though it is only the small one, it filtered 11 litres of a pretty clean spirit to perfection, its easier to use than the Z filter and its huge advantage is after unscrewing both ends and pouring dry carbon in, with a funnel you can pour boiling water from a kettle very rapid through it to clean and activate it which adds considerably to the purification process but beware being stainless steal the whole unit gets red hot. The instructions say to let it flow at 2 drops a second this took about 4 days so don’t be in a rush for it.

I have thought about on of these, makes it easier to justify the cost to the misses. I assume you use it like the Z between two pales. Dose it come with the wall mounted brackets as well.

Yes it works just the same in principle as the Z filter (two pales) and does have a small bracket but I just left it hanging.

I should just point out that you don’t get the pales with the filter, it is just the filter.

Yeh, I thought that. BTW what are the micro filters, are they disposable & how many do you get.
