Redcurrant Rum

Postby YHB » Tue Apr 24, 2012 8:53 pm

Probably the wrong time of year to be thinking of making it - But I have just finished the last of last year's - It was good and I wanted to write about it before I forgot.

This is the reason that I wanted to start distilling spirits. I make loads of this stuff for Christmas presents - hopefully this year it will be even better.

1.1/2 Pints of light rum (40% ABV)
9 Ounces of redcurrants
9 Ounces of brown sugar
Some Mint
2 Star Anis - I like Anis but a couple of people prefer it with it removed after 1 week, maybe only one star would have the same effect?.

Shake every day for 2 weeks - filter - enjoy.
