T-500 Distillation

Hi , this is my first attempt at distilling using the T-500. After the boiler heated up (my flow rate of 500ml/min) was set . The temperature fluctuated between 55-61 degrees(c). I bled off the first 50/ml of product then after 2/hrs the boiler shut down ? whats wrong . Does anyone have a phone number so I can talk to and take direction from? I'll pay the cost of the call I'm Canadian and live in BC.

Sorry to hear your sad news here.
I do not own a T500. and feel restrained in any comment.
If no one comes back with any advice, maybe you can come back on your comment after 2/hrs the boiler shut down ?
Have you blown/tripped a fuse?

Robert.

First of all welcome to the forum Crossbones.. ;) your lucky we have a member or 2 in your neck of the woods...Chill is his handle, he's very active on here so he's going to be the guy to help.

Back to your problem...does your boiler "shut down" as in no power? controlling the temp on a 5oo is a royal pain in the butt.

You'll learn more as you go on...you say it's your first run...are you running a stip???

A little more info/ timeline on how you setup and what happened will help us to sort your problem....we're here for you to get the best out of your new hobby.

Welcome aboard. We will be able to solve this. There is only a few reasons why any boiler cuts out.

If you have a multimeter that may help. The obvious causes are....
A trip in the house.
A trip in the boiler.
A fuse in the plug
The element has failed

Were you running it on a long extension lead? A boiler is one of the bigger loads you use on your circuits. Doing this for a few hours will find any weaknesses.

I guess you are 120v but what is the amp or kw of the boiler?

When we do get this fixed, it might be worth running it full of water full length of time to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Welcome! Check the T-500 sub-forum. I think someone else experienced this in the last year, it was a blown fuse or over-heat protector that was defective.
