Cleaned the copper just fine. Unfortunately it etched through the worktop also. SHMBO was not impressed. >:(

I did once dis-assemble and paint a saxophone with paint stripper, in order to re-polish and lacquer it.
I did this while staying with and helping out in a friends public house.
In a plastic/glassfibre bath tub.
That was not happy afterwards.
Now this was on Halloween, and my "fancy dress" costume consisted of painting my naked body in red paint,adding some permanent marker strikes and a bought mask and a pair of previously painted "briefs".
I was a hit working the bar,with many local girls needing to check the thoroughness of the paint work.
Later I sat for over an hour in the same bathtub, washing off paint and marker pen.
Damage to bathtub was blamed for ever after on my "costume", I never owned up to the paint stripper.

Anyone got a bar needing staff for Halloween?
Not sure I could get away with the same costume, some things that you can do when you are young could be positively scary at a more advanced age.
