May have been asked but are the standard pink demijohn bungs safe?
Thank you and sorry if I'm being stoopid!

I ditched my pink bungs because they vulcanised and I thought it might harbour bacteria easier - besides I like cork better!

I use the pink rubber ones for doing wine, but not for anything distilled.
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

I use the cork ones .. .they are cheaper so I get less stressed when I spot one of my dogs a) batting it round the kitchen or b) chewing it !!!

Depends what you have in them

If fermenting a wash should be no problem

Hi level alcohol would be very marginal

Funny thing is, I have seen a lot of extremely sad looking cork bungs put to continual use, when they were clearly long passed any thinking hygienic use.
Pink bungs, no problem at the fermenting stage, wouldn't use them when storing anything that had been run.
I seldom take myself seriously....
