I fancy a bash at creating a Glenmorangie taste/look-alike, has anyone managed/attempted this.
Any hints would be gratefully received

As far as I know there is not a lot of peat tase to it and aslight caramel. I would go easy on those two essences and play around with the others. I think I would try profile B first. Just my thoughts but I would start that way see how I progressed by Trial and error. Cheers Short

Just remembered they use Bourbon casks so I would use Bourbon chips to age it.

There are some pretty comprehensive instructions for that here, looks like a big project though

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like I have a job on my hands, I am ordering a Whiskey Profiling Kit next week. I supose I better get a bottle of Morangie for comparison purposes. LoL
I have fond memories of Morangie and Tain, as a young man I had to visit the distillery for a week to carry out safety work.
Although at that early age I didn’t understand the processes I have vivid memories if the smells, and my first glass of pundy. Being an apprentice and just old enough to purchase alcohol (or was I) I was regarded as a legitimate target for the 13 men of Tain to introduce to the produce of their labours at every opertunity.
God Bless Them,
