Wheat Vodka

put these on 10th Aug
3x25ltr washes.per wash:-
2kg Malted crushed wheat
1kg wheat malt extract
4kg sugar
4g alpha amilaise.
8lts water in boiling pot.
add wheat and boil.
Add amilaise and simmer 30mins.
offheat add extract.
IN fermenter 10 ltrs cold water
add sugar stir like mad.
When pot temp below 70c
add to fermenter.
Top with cold water to 25ltrs
Temp to 25c add yeast.
I used Prestige Wheat vodka yeast?
maybe o.t.t. but after that taste
did a 25ltr trial all through
the airstill as per our bible.
The results were impressive to
say the least

Final gravity readings between 1004-1006.
Because its grain its reading like a beer??
3x strip runs = 12.5 ltrs @52%
Spirit run in T500 @64 c.
Watered to 35%= 18.5 ltrs.
After cuts and diluting to 40% ended up
with 9.2 ltrs. Could have been a bit
more greedy but after quality not
quantity.
Aired for 2 days will now let sit and
settle for 2 weeks or so then taste.
It does smell good
