The intention is to try for a forced air cooled reflux column...
A step up from Riko's spiral still.
Hence the name.
It will fill my trilogy of stills- Smart Still,Silly Still,&________

Sounds good. You know I like the whole air cooled idea.

I apologise now for the link I posted, seems they switched at some point & are much smaller. I bought 3 sets, 1 is like the ones I bought previously but the other 2 are small round the neck, if anyone gets stuck then this is how I have had to get them to hold

Would be a lot easier if we could get our hands on them
2"copper ferrules, that's why i posted the link earlier
in the thread. Iv'e tried sourcing them but all roads
lead to the good old US of A. they work out at approx.
£25.00 with post.I was going to need three for an idea
that was kicking around in my head.
The plan was to make my collumn modular with the bulkhead
fitting from s/d, and with some spare 54ml pipe make a 4"
gin basket then it all could be tri-clamped together.
I know the s/s ferrules are hell of a lot cheaper but i
lack the confidence soldering/braizing or welding s/s to
copper. My soldering skills are moderate at the least,
i'm not a proper welder (pun intended)

The 2" are currently out of stock on the Still Dragon Europe site, €16 for the part then another few quid postage. When they're back in stock of course! Get some map gas & give brazing a go, it's easier than you think

To be honest Benoit, i don't think they will get back in
stock.(just a feeling i get) copper to copper isn't a big
deal for me, i managed vino's pothead build and a liebig
with reasonable success, but s/s to copper i'm not very
comfortable with. Iv'e heard if not done properly the
join could crack or split under the intense heat when you
run the boiler. not something i want to take a chance on.

I have only brazed in extremis, but have discovered that I can do it.
This hobby pushes me out of my comfort zone on occasion, but cheers me when I discover that Shit that once scared me is nothing to be afraid of.
You are here a short time and a long time gone.
Mess with life,it will mess with you.

Hi all!

Our 2" copper ferrules are already on the ship to us. We will have them back in stock by end of February.

Best regards,
