I have a good load split oak that has been stored for 3 years and is well seasoned. Any ideas of the best way to prepare it to age my apple brandy.

Yup. Break/split/saw it into staves - largest/easiest/biggest that will fit in a glass jar, with a wide mouth. Toast it to about 200c OUTSIDE on a bbq. While hot char well with a blowtorch.
Do not consider the oven - been there - got in the most trouble. Although wood burning stove works well, if you have a wood only [no coal] fire going !!
Oak is a gradual thing - start at 20g per L and see how it goes. You can always add more.... but you can't take it out.

I will second that as a way to go.
With no promises.
