I'm new here

Postby Dynamic » Fri Apr 22, 2016 10:33 am

Hi guys,

Like the subject says, I'm new here AND looking for my first still system.
I think the best for beginners is the Air Still.
But.. which site is the best for buying it?

Greets

PS: Awesome site with a lot of tips!

Hello again, and welcome.

I am a devout air still user, so I am biased. Particularly if you have a freezer, IMO this is all the still you need. But I guess that might depend on how hard the hobby bites you :)

Where to buy them from? A quick googleate will probably find you the cheapest place. The mega home version is very very good. ALWAYS buy stainless!!

Once the box arrives. Do not unpack the small filter it comes with OR the instructions, both of them are completely irrelevant and should be thrown away. (no smiley - fact)

Start saving some coins you need a fistful of 1p & 2p pieces - Check they are not magnetic! You are looking for the older ones - new ones are copper plated.

Thanks Mash!

Haha, instructions that do not match the product, ironic.

For those who have the airstill, are the instructions so irrelevant because it's marketed as being for essential oils or distilled water & not alcohol? Or do they also state for alcohol as well?
Hopefully someone from airstill will find the best practice guide here & copy it over to their instructions so new comers start off on the right foot

I'm sure that the airstill is sold for all of the above...the oil/water is just a ploy.
If the scuffers come a knocking you say "my wife make smelly stuff with it".. ;D

If I can find the paper that came with mine I'll print here..just so you may all have a :D :D

I know this is all tongue in cheek but if you had accumulated enough heads / fores that were way beyond saving, I'm thinking something completely vile that you wouldn't even serve your mother in law. Could it be turned into fuel? I'm only thinking for a lawnmower or something?
