Re: Gins recipes with bitter orange
Blow your heads off with food grade essential oils.
I'm struggling to find enough spirit to flavour with a drop or two, leave a week, to try, all good, how to pick a best one?
After initial purchase, the quantities used are as cheap, or cheaper than chips.
Sorry for the thread hijack, I had to share.
Robert.

You do need to read the small print, not all are created equal.

Apologies for the big bump.
Are you using Orris Powder? That's all I I've been able to find unless it's an import job.

Re: Gins recipes with bitter orange
I found Orris root essential oil.
Well I say oil.
Thick as Tarmac.
Cost a fortune.
I melted the label heating it to an almost runny state.
One drop will probably flavour 20 litres.
It FCUK'D the litre and half that I added it to.
Put me off gin for a while.
I am creeping back with just Juniper steeped neutral, Pot distilled, and a couple of drops of Corriander added.
I may become a little more experimental over the winter.
