We all seem to try a few and then settle upon a neutral wash that suits us!
And familiarity does seem to help quality.
Equally, the more that a person makes cuts, the better that they get at doing so.
These days, with my neutral wash of choice, the tasting is a second opinion, it is so formulaic that tasting, I often don't bother...
I know just where the numbered jars fit in the bigger picture.
This is not magic, for the most part it is rote.
And comes with experience/time I guess?
Sometimes, a new wash has to be tried, just to stop the boredom setting in!
