So in other words, a day to just kick back.

What Mash said.
I seldom take myself seriously....

Don't wish to sound trite, but this is the price paid for living in paradise.
Those of us living in more dull temperate zones cope with more minor weather changes, more frequently.
We have weather shite too.
But less good bits inbetween.

I lost some roof felt this year and got the right hump.

I think that means I am better suited to moderate climes then.

Paradise or is the head always greener?

2019?

Do you date your wines from when they are made or when they are ready?

I normally date from when I make them.

I thought that's what you must mean. Good luck with it.

I have tried a couple of times to acquire sufficient grapes to make a worthwhile effort. I found it uneconomical to buy them in and I have never really had a contact who could supply from what they grow themselves.

How do you find the sugar content in UK grapes?

My scottish vines failed to produce anything, this year, as last year.
But with global warming I live in hope!

Growing good grapes is a struggle. We tried and gave up.

I buy them in. Italian & Spanish are £1 kg at the moment. English grapes are even more expensive.

Ah, well I was replacing glass in the greenhouse yesterday.....

Not difficult. 3 custom shaped panes, 2 packs of "W" clips and 2 packs of "Z" clips (not enough W clips so ordered a couple of hundred from eBay to replace all rusted ones) for just under £25.......

It is only when you replace the glass that you realise the clips are buggered.
These days I wear safety specks to do the job.
One sprang out into my eyeball once and stuck there.
Thankfully no lasting damage.

And I spent today cutting big rocks / boulders into nice thin slices with a 14" cut-off saw.
For a building project.
Finished dusty and weary.

Spent yesterday on the shores of Loch Ken allegedly fishing for pike. Came home with a big plastic bucket filled with crayfish, Excellent.
