Just lifted the lid on my rum wash that has been finished now 4 days.
Is this normal with a rum wash?
There is still a co2 cap over the wash and it tastes dry.

Looks good to me, what does your hydrometer say? If it confirms its finished then get that bad boy racked off the sludge & go have some fun with your still!

It was 5ltrs of Lincoln molasses from Cornwall farmers and 3kg of unrefined cane sugar.
Topped up to around 26ltrs and then 4tbs of bakers yeast.
Ferments like a beast and the whole house smells amazing for the first couple of days

Yes know what you mean. Now have 4ltrs
supping Rum and 23ltrs on wood.

Have been using Black Treacle and Golden Syrup
as my molasses. I know more money but I think
better flavour.
If you buy in bulk it works out a lot cheaper.
Don't know what type of still you guys are
using. I use T500 with copper dome &condenser
for my Rum.Lots of flavour carries thru and
has a slight golden tinge when it comes thru the
still. And of course that lovely smell
