Gin recipes - botanical quantity
Hi all, I saved a couple of recipes from my lurking days on here. Thanks to who ever wrote them
Gin recipe
12g Juniper
6g Coriander
2g Cassia Bark
2g bitter Orange Peel
pinch Nutmeg
pinch Angelica
pinch Orris Root
Lightly crush Juniper &coriander
Finely chop ginger and peel
Add all to Sputnic.
Need 2ltrs 40% neutral
1 ltr water.
Run to 60%
Ingredients ONE LITRE
• 13 g juniper berries.
• 8 g coriander seeds
• Whole skin of one tangerine.
• 1/2 lemon (potato peeled)
• 1g Angelica
• 0.1g orris root
• 4 black peppercorns (NO MORE)
• 1 L 50-55% neutral
• 1 L water
I've just noticed one is for 2 litres of 40% and the other is 1 litre of 50-55%.
I just want to ask about the quantities of botanicals as the one litre in my mind has nearly the same quantity as the 2 litre.
I had planned 2 litres at 40% but am now confused on the botanicals.
Can anyone suggest a starting point for a n00b
