I have been distilling for 18 months now, I bought a still off a friend which had been modified to be similier to the T500 I was getting 3 litres at 90% which took 7 hours, but a month ago it got a leak in the condenser and as I have no welding experience I went bought the T500 now as far as I am concerned this is the Roll Royce model of stills, I bought it for $500 New Zealand dollars I think thats 250 pounds...I discovered this forum while surfing the internet about a week and a half ago and I found a wealth of knowledge on here, you guys certainly know your stuff I have learnt so much in the short time I have been reading the prevous posts on here...cheers

And as I am a recent newcomer myself, makes me feel slightly less new here!
I never would have guessed YHB to be a Python fan....
You live and learn.

Yes it legal to make it here but illegal to sell it,when friends come around and taste it they want to buy some I have to say no as I don't want to be fined or have my still taken off me..

Just a thought, you could keep a jar in your kitchen labelled "
Brewing Donations" and they could make an '
appropriate' donation to your coffers. You could then gift them an unrelated bottle of whatever takes their fancy. No selling involved

Go and buy yourself a box of Bic pens, sell them to your friends for $20 each
Your friends will think they are expensive pens but they won't complain when they find out each one comes with a free bottle of Vodka or Gin or anything else for that matter.
You are not allowed to sell your brew but I don't remember seeing anywhere that states you can't give it away
Just a thought
