I am building this power controller now should be ready next week, i find running the water faster for the start deals with the bit of hot vapour. i thought i would add a bit to the gin topic you're discussing. I add my botanicals straight in bags into the still on a spirit run, be careful with amount of root as it can get too woody i found out but just distill again if you don't like the taste, with small amounts. i remember that one of the big gin houses does it this way, i saw it on a episode with hairy bikers going round uk and they go to a well known gin house could be (sip smith) maybe can't remember but thats the way they do it. not even in bags just dried coriander and juniper straight into the massive still and switch it on. you can look up the clip maybe on you tube. there are also some good gin recipes around on the forums i found at least 10 in a great gin topic, very handy, they also talk about how the different brewery do it some in the vapour path like Bombay Sapphire is that way
