No worries googe.

Both were 70gm chopped in the blender. 4.375kg sugar dissolved in 3 litre hot water from tap, that was a pain twice over, topped off with 14.5 litres cold water for total of 17.5 litres. Squeezed into my 20 litre buckets with about litre and a half space to spare, soft covered to monitor SGs and stir daily. Bakers yeast - Pams Activated 75gram each.
Second bucket, after blender kale was treated to a rolling boil for 10 minutes, 1 teaspoon vegemite stirred in at end of boil, strained into bucket measured .5 litre.
Heading towards day 5 now, OSGs of 1090 and 1089 down to 1032 and 1030.
SG drop has diminished over last 24 hours for both washes.
The wash with the greenery is visually and audibly active, the other at a glance appears inert but isn't on second take. No soundtrack, but this wash is just shading the other performance wise, though not confident this will continue.
Will be happy if both are into the 990s by day 10.

Approaching day 6 (that'll be late this arv) 1026 and 1023.
Extract wash is holding up well.
Probably be Sunday before we get below 1000 with either which would place them at day 10.

Going into day 11, 1090 started down to 1006; 1089 started down to 1004. Both quite slow now, day temps holding up but using heat at night via my beer controller. Aim is once they drop into the 990s airlock and wait to finish and clear.

Thanks googe.
Took a look at them yesterday, 18th day, after a week under airlock, down to 995 and 993 so gettingt there. The wash with the processed kale is the higher reading of the two, airlock there is quietly chugging. The extract is just doing as it has all along, both should be clearing by weeks end (I hope).

Day 29 now, both have shown a constant SG over last 10 days or so, so the slow airlock activity has been mainly de-gassing, I'd guess.
Down to 994 and 993 - tying gelatine fining this trip, attended to this morning.

Off to the UK in a week, for five. Back latish June so hope by then some clearing's been achieved.

Also hope the annual fine day in Britain doesn't happen before I'm there to enjoy....

30 days fermenting and five weeks clearing? I would expect the mother of all brews to come from that!

Ha ha Robert, that's the plan. 'course it is!

The extract wash actually bottomed out at day 18, I was a bit slack there.....
Green stuff wash only dropped a point in 12 days, rest of the time was de-gassing.

Have an Odin cornflake wash down to do it's thing by my return, fingers crossed.

After lengthy procrastination I've finally done a stripping run on these.
Have posted a piece in 'What I Did etc'as I did encounter a puzzle with #2 which I ran first (looking for an answer :-* ).

In summary, equal sized washes: #1 AV 13.04%; #2 AV 13.18%
Both racked straight from fermenters to boiler, crystal clear, #2 slightly darker shade put down to vegemite nutrient (used as a precaution).

Runs paralleled each other almost word for word. Although I will reflux them, the bulk of each run could be cut and used as taste is a straight and clear neutral.

Took both runs down to 26% at the head, each 3.75 litres output.
Combined cuts, corrected % is #2 52%, #1 53%

I'm pretty happy with the results and all in all will repeat this when the damned vege reappears on the shelves. Aside from time out when I travelled to the UK for my daughter's wedding, lead time would be about the shortest I've encountered - I've had some stinkers with the likes of TPW.

I'm not an expert on this craft: if anyone has comment critique gladly welcomed. :)

Refluxed these two, combined, today - 7.5 litres @52.5%
Potentially, 3.938 litres.

Took off 3.534 litres in 23 x 250ml cuts from 88% down to 22%, all ex still, for a total volume 5.75 litres.
5 litres of that will cut to 40%.

So, somewhere there's another .5 litre lurking....I wonder where it is? :-\
