When I bought mine the first thing I did was unpack the column and check everything was clean and as it should be, could have been anything in there.

I would not be surprised at what you may or may not find on a retailers website.

Did you notice a problem with sulphides before you realised there was little copper in the T500?
If you swapped out that copper coil for a stainless one, I doubt you'd have a problem either.

Sugar washes produce so little, if you were to run a high molasses wash without copper, welcome to eggy farts with no dog to blame town ;D but with sugar I wouldnt bother fixing a problem I didn't have.

I'd say it wont hurt, and may be beneficial, but as in all things, there is disagreement.
Some eastern europeans who know a thing about vodka, avoid having any copper, as its 'reactive'

try it both ways, if you can notice a difference, then do it the way that you think is best.

I have a copper column, Well two actually , a huge copper condenser, both of which get skooshed internally with citric acid once in a while, but see the grot on my copper boil pieces after spirit runs.
And use citric acid to clean them.

Of course, this may make no difference to the taste of product.

But I will stick with it, rather than experiment ;D
