So I got my new T500! Seems to work awesome so far.
I fermented blue agave with ec1118 to about 15% (added some yeast nutrient, and half a can of frozen orange juice concentrate) It finished up a day or so ago, specific gravity 1.0.
T500 column with 1 copper Brillo pad at the bottom no saddles.. 150 proof, strong tequilla nose... Will age on some American oak.
Thought I\'d share my first run with it!!!!

jph, where did you get hold of the blue agave in enough quantity to do this? Are you in the US? I never found a UK supplier.

Dont know if I am being daft but they sell blue Agave Syrup or Nectar at detoxyourworld.com Dont know how much you would need if it the right stuff but its £14 quid a bottle. I read on a cookery site if you use 1kg of sugar yuo need only use half or less than half Blue Agave. You can buy the plant here also from some gardening centres. May be jph could give us a breakdown 0of his recipe.

I should probably say, I managed to find small bottles in supermarkets but never the larger sized ones you can get in the US, and the small ones are expensive - so much so that it would probably be cheaper to buy the tequila than make it!
