I have noticed a few names on this other site and rather than pm\'ing everybody there I thought I would just ask here.

I am and also notice a few similar names as well. The site has had some out of control postings of late. Have learnt a lot form it as well though.

I noticed that its 2 people doing all the bickering on there but yes, some useful info.

I still think stillsmart is the friendliest around.

Hey guys,yip im over there,and its funny you all should mention the way things are going over there,Just had a rant about it.Pissing me off,that site used to be helpful as this one.Turning into a mini-HD,haha,well maybe not quite.

Good on ya Marc for the post you did on the other site, it had to be said. I\'m not a big poster, but there is no way I feel like posting on the other site now just to be put down. Non of us are experts. And I will add to part of one of the other sites post over electric element cycling. I like electric over gas, naked flame and 95% vapours...well lets just say I feel safer with electric, but thats just me. With the T500 I was only getting 0.5deg difference in temps, but I have a good power supply....I can live with that.
I too find this site much friendlier.

I\'m on there, too. Found some useful info for Tomato Paste washes.

Things have setteld down a bit in the last few days, its a great site to be screwed up by a couple of people.

Came across this thread when looking for info.
Have used that site as a searching point; some good stuff there you just have to be patient to get through all the backslapping and self promotion. I was dumb enough to ask a question there once and got jumped. Jumper wasn't even a mod!!
The mod weighed in after I jumped back. Oh well.

I wasn't around when the trouble on this forum was going on, the old link no longer works for the forum part of the site. The online home brew shop is working but a click on the forum button states that it was closed down due to spam. It's sad when anything like this happens, it's the members that loose out.

Out of the members that posted in this original thread it seems only Andy is still visiting this forum.

I'm on a couple of other sites, but stillsmart was the first one I joined when I took up this "new hobby" last year and it's helped me tremendously, fingers crossed nothing like whatever happened on that site happens here.

I think I registered on all the available forums when I started into this world but one by one they all descended into anarchy and infighting with some being outrightly offensive.

We had an unfortunate episode here a few years back but it was quickly isolated and is now a distant memory that we don't talk about anymore.

I continue to be a member on this site http://www.coppercustomstillcomponents. ... /index.php I've found it to be more eclectic than the others but I'm not active there.

I found many of the US and Aus/NZ sites to have a tone and approach that is quite different to the way we do things in this part of the world i.e. England/Scotland/Wales/Ireland. It's not that one's better than the other, it's more a different outlook and approach to life by people on two very different parts of the planet
