2nd BM brew date fixed.
This Friday is down on the calender for a 2nd try at a Pelforth Brune. I did try a year or so back at the recipe a friend sent me....but because of the 3 step mash in the recipe was beyond the kit I had at the time, I made a very pale imitation of this beer. Now with the BM the steps will be spot on...he uses a 50 litre model.
He perfected the recipe a while back....and was kind enough to send me a bottle of his called Pelican for a taste test...
it was a brilliant beer, in fact better on my taste buds than the original

I'll hopefully be doing my maiden voyage on the Grainfather tomorrow, if I don't get called anywhere with work, I'm going for an old faithful TTL, mainly cos it's a simple recipe and one I've brewed many times before.
Also I'm thinking for my next neutral spirit production, I'm going to mash 5kg of malt to make 20lts, Store it in 4 demijohns, then for each 25 litre wash, add one demijohn to 20 litres of water and 5kg of sugar with bakers yeast.

I'm going with a saison ale tomorrow, as I need to make a starter for my Friday Pelforth brew.

Hi Icefever
Yeah got the Beersmith code, I did what you said and emailed them direct, got the code within an hour
I've just been setting up the counterflow cooling, luckily the hose's attached to the counterflow for the cooling water fit the speed couplings supplied by StillDragon, I mounted it away from the boiler as I don't like the idea of it sitting on top of the glass lid.
Here's a pic
