Postby Admiral Toad » Fri Sep 11, 2015 2:10 pm

Hi all

some of you may be aware of this but I just heard about it from Judith at SDE (yes I know buying more bits !)

http://www.distillingexpo.com/about/

They are exhibiting there and it sounds like a canny do

Think I'm going to go so if anyone fancies it PM me and we'll come up with a secret sign so we can meet up ;D

Were it not so far from home, and the fact that I have just returned from an infrequent visit there,I would be so tempted to have a few Tee shirts printed with this sites logo and attempt a "pop up shop" from a rucksack.
Sod secretive, wear something that says it.
People will get it or not.
Just my opinion.

Made it to this very interesting there's a awful lot of new rectifiers setting up.we are indeed awash with gin producers !
There were some very interesting producers there including the only distillery in Iceland who are malting their own barley and making a smoked version using burning sheep crap....
Some very pretty kit there and had a long chat with Judith and Michael from Still Dragon which was interesting and reassuring for the future of this equipment.
There were quite a lot of folk producing spirit from Austria and that alpine area so they are now known alpine distillers so I think a trip there next year might be in order !
Speaking of kit have a look at this gear

http://www.istill.eu/#!istill-products/c17ty

It's all singing and dancing a bit like the breumaister equivalent of a still ( they make large auto mashing gear too) might have to hop on the ferry to Amsterdam too !

Icing on the cake was getting a huge thumbs up for my 15 month old All grain from the professional tasters and whisky writers certainly raised a few eyebrows !
