Just out shopping with the other half and she's just noticed these and asked if this work as packing?

I use the ones from Aldi...use one washing up..put to oneside and see if it rusts....if it's still shiney after a couple of days..go for it.

ps...just thought soak them in a citric bath for a few hours, before you use them.. gets the crap off them.

@ Devon: As long as those pictured are of a good quality SS they will make great packing. It is what I use when making a neutral.

Do not pack too tightly. You do not want to restrict the vapor path, but maximize the surface area.

I bought some 100% stainless steel scrubbers off of ebay about a year ago when I was building my proportional splitter, they were not as advertised :)

real stainless on the left after a night in high proof

I made a similar mistake on the bay around the same time.
Currently using Lidl's finest, seem to be the real deal.
