Re: Any "Vapers" here ?
In the UK many branches of Cartridge World are now selling the No-Match range of eCigs and liquids, and with sterilised or disposable mouthpiece covers they allow you to try before you buy.
I have tried the Nicolites eCigs before (the cartomiser type you can buy from newsagents and some supermarkets) and I really didn't find them particularly nice. I did try to stick with them for a while but drifted back to stinkies after a couple of months.
Although I've only been using the no-match system for 3 weeks (had my last ever analogue on New Year's Eve) I know these are going to work for me.
I've already gone off the tobacco flavoured liquid and am now ‘smoking’ coffee, mint chocolate and aniseed.

Definitely an extra kick from the 4.8v available with a variable voltage battery. Needs recharging more often though. My first one was a birthday present from my eldest, ended up buying myself another 2 of them.

Helpful. One of my batteries has died, so needs replacing, but it seems that the original 3.3v fixed batteries are now not available and only switchable variable ones as replacement.
My biggest issue is that I have to charge at home as the car plug in chargers are all only 12v whereas I need one that will work at 24v (no 12v outlet).......

24V? My batteries are charged via a USB connection at 5v. One charger is on my netbook audioserver and the other is on a mains > USB adapter.
If you get the USB type charger, which my variable voltage batteries use, I'm pretty sure that there are car > USB converters available.
btw, my local stockists have plenty of regular batteries, your shop might be spinning you a tale or are simply low on stock. Check out the site 'Totally Wicked' for mail order. Also they have a list of resellers so maybe one near you.

+1 for Totally Wicked and for making your own juice!
I was addicted to smoking for 34 years, after a lot of research talking to people that were already vaping I bought a Tornado and some 28mg juice, I've not touched a normal smoke for 15 months, and stoped vaping 11 months ago.
If anyone's thinking of using it to give up the following statements were decisive for me...
1) Buy a refillable unit that does not look like a cigarette.
2) Buy a VERY high nicotine level juice (24mg+), this will more than satisfy your addiction, you want it soooo strong it reminds you of your first cigarette (dizzy/coughing).
3) If you want to give up DO NOT buy tobacco flavours, buy strong fruit flavours to start, Cherry is popular.
4) Always have a packet of smokes with you, when you want a smoke take a good few hits from your pipe, then, if you still want a real one go have one...
5) With your weekly savings buy the kit to mix your own juice (it really is straight forward, and even cheaper), and drop the mg content of your juice each week, when you hit zero you'll find that you start forgetting to take the pipe out with you....
This worked for me, other ways work too...
A great forum, thanks for all the information!
Cheers

Mine already is a TW "cartomiser" system. It's not the USB bit that's at issue, it's converting the 24v down to the 5 for the US in/output. My phone charger is a cheap and nasty one that's microUSB, but I've yet to find one that will work the same so I can just use a USB battery connector.
As for flavours ? A lot of the TW red label ones can be a little tasteless, but some of the black label/patriot range ones are excellent. Equally, it seems some of the "T-Juice" ones have a very good reputation - just that they like to use idiotic nomenclature. ..... Their "afrodisiac" is an excellent aniseed and I've had their "Red Astaire" recommended to me this weekend too, as a nice Black Currant/Cherry menthol sort of flavour.........

Don't know. The description says USB 5 out plus 12/24v out, but not whether that just means 12 or 24v in.
At about the £4 mark I'll just add one onto the next time I order something from amazon.....

Uh oh, should have read the reviews before posting the link. Almost as many bad reviews as good and if it goes wrong, seems the usb is favourite to go first.
This looks better, only 2 reviews so far but they say build quality is good. Can be used with 12v or 24v.

TVM for the link John. Gives me an excuse to order the pump I want for my T500 too (without request forms signed and in triplicate for erindoors).
Plus it sorts out battery hassles when stuck night out !

Phantom wrote:Don't care what anyone else feels, but it's NOT as satisfying as a real ciggies (using the first smoke of the day scenario) but it ticks enough boxes to be a reasonable replacement that also happens to be much cheaper than tobacco (well the excise duty on it anyway), but also removes most/all the more dangerous components that come with tobacco.......
so I give it my vote (for now anyway).........
I have to agree,3 weeks without a cancer stick, and it is an acceptable replacement,NOT the same, but doing what I hoped it would.
TBH,what I miss the most is the carbon monoxide hit that blows your legs away and makes your head spin when you've not smoked for a while.
Although drinking alcohol has a similar effect...
Ah yes,one of the reasons I'm on this forum.

Re: Any "Vapers" here ?
Do any of the vapers on here mix their own juices?
This might seem like a fairly random question, but as I see it, the juices we put in our e-cigs are a mixture of glycerine + flavouring plus some nicotine.
Has anybody tried ‘smoking’ Still Spirits or Prestige essences, with or without the addition of nicotine? After all, aren't they just glycerine plus flavouring?
I'm only pondering this because I've got an Orange Juice for my e-cig which isn't orangey enough, and I've got Prestige Strandier liqueur and Triple Sec essences.

Re: Any "Vapers" here ?
So have you tried the Prestige?
Have to admit my mind wandered a similar route this week.None of the flavours of e liquid tried are really what I want.
Have read on various forums of caffeine hits gained from vaping certain coffee flavours.
It seems the world may be your oyster here.Does diluting vegetable glycerine with "vodka",for a better consistency, give you an alcohol hit?
Me,I just want something that tastes like a strong old smoke, that I can reduce the nicotine on,and then quit vaping.
It's four weeks today since an analogue, getting through the juice at 50 Mls of 24mg a week,a lot I think, but reckon it is better for my health.
I keep the last two packets of tobacco purchased at hand to tempt me,so far they haven't.
Robert.

Re: Any "Vapers" here ?
I've tried quite a few of the Prestige essences in my home made spirits and I much prefer them to the Still Spirits range.
I haven't yet tried vaping them, but haven't yet graduated to mixing my own juices, I'm still fairly new to this and had my last stinky just before midnight on New Year's Eve.
There's a new vaping store opening in our town next week who look like they will be offering a much wider product range than my current supplier, so I will be paying them a visit.
