i found a nice Recipe for Amaretto on another forum thought i would post it here. I tried this today and its REALLY good. I only made 2.5 liters (i cut the values in half and worked great).
The bonus for anyone in UK Sainsbury's sells everything you need ;D

Heres the quantities used to get just over 1 Gal (5L):
1.2L Boiling water
1Kg Brown Sugar
250g White refined Sugar
250g Unrefined Molasses Sugar
3.2L of 40% vodka
8 Tablespoons Almond Extract
2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
1 Tablespoon glycerine (for a little body)

Heat the sugar and water to just below boiling point.
Allow to cool to body temperature.
Add the vodka, extracts and glycerine and store together in a 5L Demijohn...

Hate to be a pain in the A**s, here is the problem, where did the recipe originate?

1 IMP TBSP = 17.7ml
1 US TBSP = 14.7ml
1 AUS TBSP = 20ml

When you buy an English tablespoon, there is no standard - size wise.
I always use millilitres to bring a standard to my recipes. ;D ;D ;D
