I'll be getting a t500 once finances allow and I gather I need to do a cleaning run first, is that correct?
Can I use the leftovers (dunder?) from my airstill for the cleaning run?

I didn't clean mine. Just took it out of the box, washed the ceramic chips and ran it.
I've had a look at the instruction sheet and it doesn't mention anything about having to do a cleaning run so I'd not bother. And as mentioned above I didn't !!

Cleaning runs on a new still are normally for self builds, to clean any flux or other undesirable things from the internals. With the T500 there is no such materials, its pretty much held together mechanically from moulded, and machined parts.
I'd just give it a wash then go for it, if you really want to do a cleaning run, then unless you have feints lying around the cheapest option is just to put down a sugar wash, and don't bother to push the ABV with too much sugar.

All I did was collected the first 500ml and discard on the first run.
