So much to take in....
Have spent what seems like forever reading all that I can,and I'm still reading,so much to take in and assimilate.
I thought that I had learned it all,but keep discovering more snippets of information, distilling life can only get better from here.
So glad that I found this site.

You'll get there JM...I've been making wine, brewing beer for years, too many when I think back...
2013 I started stilling, with an Airstill, read all I could, then read it again, then even a third time. What I found to help me was a "scrapbook" digital form that is. I opened a DOC file called it "still tips" (it was always open on the tool bar) then whenever I came across a snippet of info on the net or forums whatever....all I did was cut & paste into the DOC, I still do the same now....more for the recipes.
I'm still learning
now I'm getting to grips with bubble plates, and a load of other bits & bobs...but I'm loving it..

i agree with ICE read then read again then REREAD till your blind oh then start again. even at this point you will have missed bits. I read this forum and others for 2 months before i owned a still and even when i start my first run i had so many pages open keeping me right. Think i will take a page out of ices book and open a DOC file and paste bits into it great idea (Stolen sorry)

I may yet change my user name,in the cold light of learning it it is starting to sound pretentious.
I have far to go before "mastering" much of this craft!
Thankfully the learning is for the most part enjoyable, and even the mistakes that I am making along the way,are a step forward, and often palatable.
Thanks for the kind words and advice.

@JM: It is by making mistakes that we learn best because those mistakes give us experience that we will remember, plus, we don't have to bury or hide our mistakes, we just toss them back in the boiler and recycle them
"Don't worry........about a thing, do-do-do-do-do ...'cause every little thing is gonna be alright!" As the song says.
We've all been there, so much to learn and it seems like such a big hill to climb, until, one day, it all just drops into place and you find yourself wondering what all the fuss was about 'cause it's so simple really......won't be long now
As for the handle, it might be different if you called yourself "Still Master" otherwise you're fine, I know nothing about Jedi's and neither do the rest of the clowns around here, so you may well be an actual Jedi Master, for all we know

Nah,I do have actual pics of our founding father, and he is not a vampiric old clown.
Loving that pic by the way Ice,and will find ways to use it.
I would share what I know, but believe ritual Hari-Kari(the honourable death) to be a most painful death!
I will take the man's mysteries/secrets to my grave.
Robert.
