Just wondered if anyone has found a Pimms type essence?
I have a friend who only drinks Pimms (yes she is the pony club type, need I say more) and at my parties I make all the drinks except this one. And as she can drink a whole bottle in an evening I need to make savings.
Still spirits (UK) certainly don\'t do one and as far as I can tell Prestige don\'t but as a lot of theirs are totaly impossible to work out I\'m not all that sure.
Any ideas?

Too be honest it tastes crap to me but Fiona swears by it (and swears alot after a bottle too). To me it tastes all spicy and like a soft vermouth but don\'t take my word for it. And you are supposed to add lemonade to it...whats that all about?

Pimm\'s: Its most popular product is Pimm\'s ?1, a gin-based beverage that can be served both on ice or in cocktails. The recipe of Pimm\'s ?1 is secret; it has a dark tea color with a reddish tint, and tastes subtly of spice and citrus fruit. A close approximation to Pimm\'s ?1 can be prepared by mixing one measure of gin with one measure of red vermouth and half a measure of triple, although this will lack the spices that give Pimm\'s its distinctive flavour. Pimm\'s No. 1 is a gin-based liquor made in England from dry gin, liqueur, fruit juices and spices . It was created in 1859 by the English oyster bar owner James Pimm. The recipe is still a secret, and only six persons know exactly how it is made. Pimm\'s No. 1 have a dark, golden-brown color, a medium body and a taste of citrus fruits and spice. It is either served on the rocks or used in cocktails

Never seen an essence or flavouring for it, the above from Andy is the best bet for anyone brave. On a side note, I once went to a wedding where they served Pimms at 10am before the service, complete with half a salad bowl in the glass as is the tradition. Needless to say I refused, vegetables have no place in my drink thankyou very much. Sadly, the alternative was several pints of Stella and a somewhat blurry matrimonial event. This all of course was before I discovered this hobby!

Jimmy, all matrimonial events are best well blurred. I\'m about to go down that blurry road myself.

Ellie Claire,
You migfht get that spice taste with a spot of Angostura Bitters. A bit of a cough syrup flavour.

http://www.anyoneforpimms.com/home.phpThere were, over time, up to six Pimms Cups as they were called, each with a different spirit base ranging though Gin, Brandy, Scotch, Vodka etc. Each of these “Cupsâ€

Thanks everyone for the info. Think the best option is to stock up with the real stuff whenever I see it on special offer. I could stop inviting my friend Fiona to our parties but she is good entertainment after a bottle! I just have to accept there are some things you can\'t copy.
As for hitting the bottle Jimmy, I have vowed to be drunk when I get hitched...just so I\'ve got an excuse.
