Twice the alcohol volume for banana's against Alcotec48
Merry Xmas, all!
I still consider myself an erratic beginner. This means any faults I have are quickly explained away....
An example in point refers to my most recent ferm'ing. I considered that my latest batch of banana wine was way too sweet - it really does peel the enamel off your teeth. So I decided to distill it.
Lo and behold! I'm getting twice as much neat alcohol off the banana wine than I do from the packets of Alcotec48.
For once - and maybe only once - I'm going to rigorously write down my processes for both Alcotec48 and banana and see this is a repeatable event. If so, it's goodbye to Alcotec as I can get banana's at 10p per kilo as opposed to £3.50 for Alcotec.
This will then pave the way for using other foods as I have seen here. (Rice, potatoes, lentils, etc).
Catch you all in the New Year and a massive thanks to all the stalwarts here.
