Essencia arrived today and now a question

Filtering spirits after distillation

Essencia arrived today and now a question

Postby Sonnyinbc » Thu Jan 22, 2015 5:08 am

I just finished racking a wash and adding sparkaloid. So still have to do strip runs beginning next week and then finish runs. Is it too early to prime the essencia purifier now? Or should I wait until I have some alcohol to put in it? Won`t likely finish distilling with the air still for another 10 days. I`ve kinda fallen behind in production :-[

Thanks
Sonny

I would wait until you've got your product ready to filter
I then use this rather than water to prime the carbon in the cartridge just stand cartridge in a suitable container and pour the 40% diluted in the top a couple of times repeating with what dribbles through and tapping cartridge to release air bubbles
Works for me

Thanks AT:

Think I got behind in production because of excessive comsumption >:D

Since joining this forum certainly have learned about all the things I`ve been doing Wrong!! And now that I`m learning to do it right--can`t wait to taste the finished product.

Thanks again

Believe me the day even the most experienced on this forum stops learning things will be the day they are laid 6 foot under ;)

I don't know if I would even like this hobby if I could not constantly learn new things. I'd probably still do it for the drink though... ;D

I'm working on pickling myself from the inside out.
Then they can just lean my corpse against a tree.
The difficult part is timing, and not wanting to self-embalm too soon.
