My other half has offered to buy me a filter for my Christmas ;D and was wondering what one is best. The choice is between the Essencia carbon filter or the EZ filter. Would value your opinions and experience on them. Thanks

No contest in my opinion, the Essencia beats the rest hands down, plus you can refill the carbon cartridge ;D

Cool thanks for the reply. After looking in depth on this site and at reviews the Essencia is the way to go. Refilling the filter by yourself twisted my arm as well. 8)

Yup agree with AM

Bit of a performance to get the cartridge open but worth it

There info in the filtering section

After getting the Essencia filter for my christmas, I have finally managed to get round to using it and can't believe the difference it has made to my neutral spirit. There is absolutely no unpleasant smells coming from it. I am glad I paid heed to the advice on this site. Top work fellas :)

I also decided on one of these as an Xmas gift to self.
Can't fault it,apart from the bright blue lid and base.
It certainly does it's job,and would recommend.

Looks to be the general consensus then...I'll have to get one, can't be doing with this piddling little filter that comes with the airstill. Image

Just had a search for one and found this..at £80 with free P&P, unless you guys know of a better deal??

*peh* You get everything! I can't even find anywhere that sells them in this benighted, backwater, banana republic.

I guess I'll just have to chew up a barbecue briquette, gargle the moonshine, then strain it through my (remaining) teeth into a crusty spittoon like the rest of the hillbillies.

Thanks, Obama. :-\

Anger-management,apparently it is all the rage.
