Cheap sugar - Heron foods

Postby Benoit » Sun May 31, 2015 9:03 am

I have a couple of close friends who know what I choose to do in my spare time, one of them sent me a message this morning to let me know Heron Foods are selling 1kg white sugar for 37p. Don't know if you have one near you but seems a good price

Thats 9.25 for 25kg - that really is cheap.

I personally think it is worth stocking up now, given that the oil price is on the rise again

26 mile round trip.
That adds 3 or 4 litres of fuel to the price.

Maybe give it a miss.

Really good that to share this stuff.

While out shopping in Aldi on Sunday, I picked up some sugar for 39p a kilo.

Never seen it as cheap as this before.

I have a spare 6x4 ft shed that needs erecting,I'm thinking of calling it the sugar shack and filling it,as these prices will not last much longer.

Do you know if it is cane sugar or beet?

Farmfoods have Tate & Lyle on at 39p, and that's cane.

Not that I think that matters, sucrose is sucrose.

As far as I'm to believe Jaggery is cane sugar (some folks say it's palm :-\ )....T&L have cane sugar but it's £1:60 per KG.
